This individual will play a pivotal role in developing innovative and effective solutions for our DoD customers within the IC sector.

 

Role Overview:


The Configuration Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that software and hardware configuration management processes are followed and maintained. This role supports various teams in managing configuration documentation, baselines, and updates, while ensuring compliance with standards and facilitating the efficient tracking of configuration items. The specialist will collaborate across teams to support agile development efforts and ensure the integrity of configuration data throughout project lifecycles.

 

Primary Duties:

  • Manage and maintain configuration control boards (CCBs), including scheduling, agendas, and action items.

  • Track and maintain configuration items (CIs) across development and production environments.

  • Develop and manage configuration management plans, processes, and procedures.

  • Maintain version control and change management documentation.

  • Ensure baseline integrity through audits and configuration status accounting.

  • Work with technical teams to ensure accurate and timely implementation of configuration changes.

  • Support the deployment and release processes across multiple environments.

  • Utilize tools such as Git, JIRA, and Confluence to manage configuration artifacts.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance (Public Trust Preferred).

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience.

  • 3+ years of experience in configuration management within an IT or software development environment.

  • Strong understanding of configuration management principles and best practices.

  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Git, JIRA, and Confluence.

  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Agile or DevSecOps environments.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.

  • ITIL certification or training.

  • Prior experience supporting federal or DoD programs.
